FLUTE TYPE AND BOARD GRADE CUSTOMISATION

GreenBean is able to provide a combination of flute type and board grade to meet your needs.

Flute is the height of the corrugation which is placed between two liners. The most common flute used in slotted containers is 'C' and it has excellent stacking strength at 4mm of thickness.

The next most common flute type is mainly used in diecut applications. Named 'B', it has good burst strength properties at a thickness of 3mm.

The combination of these two flute types, form a product widely known as twin cushion, or double wall. The thickness of this product is around 9mm.

There are other flutes types, known as 'A', 'E', and 'F', which are not used as often are used specifically for specialised applications. Any of our materials manufactured can be produced in both white or brown material.

5 BOARD

100% recycled material
Ultra light strength (great for light weight applications)
Grey coloured which makes it the lightest of all corrugated materials
Used for pallet sheets or pads/partitions

4 BOARD

Light Strength (good for self supporting products such as bottles)
Good surface for printing
Brown coloured outside, grey inside, or white coloured outside, grey inside
Slightly heavy when using a Kraft liner on outside layers

3 BOARD

Medium Strength (Good for light weight items that are NOT self supporting, 2.5kg-7.5kg)
Brown coloured board on both sides or white on outside, brown on inside
Most common board grade used
Kraft liners available on both sides with a recycled medium such as corrugated

3 SUPER BOARD

Medium Strength Board. Same as 3 Board, except material has slightly heavier medium (ideal for items that support their own weight, 5kg – 10kg)
Can be used for frozen products
Brown coloured board on both sides or white on outside, brown on inside

1 BOARD

Heavy Strength Board,(Application varies from refrigerated goods to items that don't support their own weight 7.5kg- 15kg)
Good surface for printing
Strong versatile material, with excellent stacking strength
Brown coloured board on both sides or white on outside, brown on inside

1 SUPER BOARD

Heavy Super Strength Board (for heavy weight items, 15kg-20kg)
Commonly used for produce and meat cartons that need refrigeration and travel distances
Excellent for stacking
Brown coloured both sides

DUO ARCH

Special Heavy Strength Board (two mediums bonded together to form highly specialised, heavy weight medium)
Single wall construction to save on space
Excellent for machine erect trays, and produce and small good cartons
Brown coloured board on both sides or white on outside, brown on inside

3 TWIN CUSHION

Double Strength Board (double wall construction for heavy duty applications)
Used for items that may need to travel long distances or double stacking
Commonly used in removalist cartons
Brown coloured board on both sides or white on outside, brown on inside

1 TWIN CUSHION

Heavier Double Strength Board, heavier than 3 Twin Cushion, with heavier construction of both liner and medium (used for various applications for items weighing over 25kg)
Used for packing heavy items such as whitegoods
